Trainee Manager (Supermarkets)

📝 About the role

Shoprite is recruiting Trainee Managers for stores in Viljoenskroon, Warden, Frankfort, Tumahole, Koppies and Kroonstad. The structured programme teaches supermarket management: sales, merchandising, stock and cash handling, financial controls and leading a team.

✅ Key duties

• Oversee and improve customer experience in the supermarket
• Lead, develop and manage store staff
• Manage profit and loss and analyse financial reports
• Coordinate merchandising, pricing and promotions
• Maintain stock availability, rotation and loss prevention
• Ensure health & safety and food safety compliance; plan staff schedules

🎓 Requirements

• Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
• At least one year of retail experience, preferably supermarket operations
• Ability to lead teams and take initiative
• Computer proficiency incl. basic MS Office
• Knowledge of store operations, merchandising, stock handling and OHSA/food safety
• Willing to do rotational experiential learning
