State Accountant: Management Accounting

📝 About the role

The Department of Electricity and Energy is hiring a State Accountant for management accounting at its Pretoria head office. You would help with budgeting, expenditure monitoring and financial reports. Only one year of budget experience is required.

✅ Key duties

• Collate financial supporting information for the annual budget planning purpose (MTEF/ENE)
• In-year Budget process-prepare and capture budget information
• Cash flow management (Drawings and against the NRF)
• Supervisory functions

🎓 Requirements

• An appropriate National Diploma in Government Accounting, Cost Accounting or related at NQF Level 6 recognised by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA), PLUS 1year experience in Finance (Budget)
• Knowledge of: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, Departmental policies and procedures
• Financial and related transversal systems used in government (BAS, Safetyweb, Vulindlela), Financial Administration and management accounting
• Skills: Financial and accounting skills, communication skills, Business letter and report writing skills, computer literacy, Problem solving/ innovation
• Management and organisational skills
• Project management
