๐ About the role
Rhodes University's People and Culture Division is hiring a Senior HR Practitioner (Grade 14) on a 3-year fixed-term contract (may be renewed, depending on funding) in Makhanda. The role manages an HR unit in the Recruitment and Staffing Section and helps develop HR best practice, policies and processes.
โ Key duties
- Line-manage an HR unit providing professional HR service to faculties and divisions
- Lead recruitment and staffing work
- Help develop best practices, policies and processes for staff efficiency
- Help develop structures, systems and processes for quality service delivery
๐ Requirements
- Relevant bachelor's degree, preferably in Industrial/Organisational Psychology or HR (NQF 7)
- About 6 years' relevant experience, including intensive recruitment and selection at all levels
- Experience across most HR areas (admin, IR, training, remuneration, performance, HRIS, wellbeing)
- At least 1 year's management experience or an NQF 7 management development certificate
- Familiarity with HR information systems; recruitment software an advantage
- At least 24 months in a high-volume people environment with 500+ employees
- Higher education experience an advantage
