Senior Engineer Structural and Mechanical

📝 About the role

Valterra Platinum is looking for a Senior Engineer (Structural and Mechanical) at the Mogalakwena Complex in Mokopane. The role leads mechanical and structural integrity, design review and engineering assurance for mining and concentrator equipment and structures.

✅ Key duties

• Implement mechanical and structural integrity plans and inspection regimes
• Lead or advise on significant failure investigations
• Provide technical support, engineering assurance, project input and mentoring
• Stop work or restrict equipment where integrity cannot be shown
• Develop, calculate, model and review designs, drawings and repair methods
• Use specialist software for structural, FEA, fatigue and vibration analysis
• Support steel and concrete mining structures and HME, underground and concentrator equipment
• Evaluate engineered lifts, rigging and safeguarding

🎓 Requirements

• BEng/BSc(Eng) in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering (ECSA-accredited or equivalent)
• Current ECSA registration as Professional Engineer (Pr Eng)
• At least 10 years' relevant post-qualification experience incl. professional sign-off
• Practical mining or mineral-processing experience
• Experience in complex lifting/rigging, safeguarding and work-at-height systems
• Postgraduate qualification an advantage
• Medical certificate of fitness; available for callouts and travel
