Security Controller (Talent Pool)

📝 About the role

Dis-Chem is building a talent pool of Security Controllers for Mpumalanga (ad lists Acornhoek). The controller supervises on-site security, loss prevention and high-risk stock, and responds to incidents in real time while CCTV is monitored off-site.

✅ Key duties

• Supervise on-site security operations and opening/closing procedures
• Liaise with and respond to the off-site CCTV monitoring centre
• Manage high-risk stock and investigate stock losses and shrinkage
• Implement and enforce loss prevention policies; conduct security audits
• Supervise warehouse truck access and offloading
• Supervise and allocate duties to on-site security guards; act as shift leader
• Respond to alarms and emergencies; maintain order during evacuations
• Handle shoplifters lawfully and coordinate with SAPS; compile case files and attend court
• Keep occurrence books, registers and incident reports
• Request and document CCTV footage for investigations

🎓 Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• PSIRA registered with Grade B or A
• At least 2 years' retail security experience in a shopping mall
• CCTV monitoring, incident reporting, access control and loss prevention experience
• Experience with digital security and incident reporting systems; Hikvision knowledge advantageous
• Knowledge of POPIA and courtroom readiness
• South African citizen; clear criminal and credit record
• Driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
