📝 About the role
Regional Court Prosecutor post in the NPA's National Prosecutions Service at CPP: Thohoyandou (Waterval). The prosecutor studies dockets, decides on and conducts prosecutions, and represents the State in court. Post 35/123 in DPSA Circular 35.
✅ Key duties
- Study case dockets
- Decide on instituting and conducting criminal proceedings
- Draft charge sheets and other documents
- Represent the State in all courts
- Lead witnesses, cross-examine and address the court on conviction and sentence
- Perform general administrative duties of the office
- Promote partner integration, community involvement and customer satisfaction
🎓 Requirements
- LLB (serving prosecutors seeking promotion: any appropriate legal qualification)
- At least 4 years' post-qualification legal experience
- Ability to act independently or with minimum supervision
- High proficiency in prosecution/litigation and presenting cases in court
- Experience guiding investigations in regional court
- Good interpersonal, analytical, presentation and project management skills
- Valid driver's licence
