📝 About the role

Dis-Chem is offering a Pharmacist Intern contract at its Vaal Mall store in Vanderbijlpark. The internship gives BPharm graduates supervised practice across the pharmacy's main areas, working under a pharmacist's direct supervision.

✅ Key duties

• Perform post-basic pharmacist assistant and, for training, pharmacist duties under direct supervision
• Sell Schedule 1 and 2 medicines; assist with compounding, manufacturing and re-packaging
• Interpret and prepare prescriptions and give patients correct instructions
• Capture script details and pick, pack and label medication
• Advise patients and explain medical aid costs
• Process medical aid claims, correct rejections and obtain chronic/HIV/oncology authorisations
• Report stock levels, assist with stock takes and control stock and assets
• Follow Dis-Chem policies, SOPs, health and safety and uniform rules

🎓 Requirements

• Grade 12
• 4-year BPharm degree
• Registered with the Pharmacy Council (South African) or valid work permit
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Willing to work retail hours; physically able to stand for long periods
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Clear credit and criminal record
• Unisolv and e-scripting, and holiday work during the degree, advantageous
