📝 About the role

Two permanent pharmacist assistant posts at Bongani Regional Hospital in Welkom. Duties include issuing medicine, ordering stock, stock-taking and checking expiry dates.

✅ Key duties

• Issuing and dispensing of prescription: Monthly ordering of medication and consumables
• Monthly and quarterly Stock taking
• Checking of expiry dates on medicine and complete documentation on expired medication as per GPP and SOP,s
• Arranging medication according to FIFO. Organising the store room according to GPP. Organising bridging prescriptions
• Distributing short dated / excess stock between Clinics. implement standards, practices, criteria and indicators for quality service (quality of practice). pre-packing of medication according to guidelines
• Safe disposal of medicines particular Controlled Drugs
• Fire and other Health and Safety Notices
• Wearing of protective clothing when handling potential dangerous materials

🎓 Requirements

• Post- Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification that allows registration with the SAPC as Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic)
• Current registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic)
• Experience: Grade 1: None after registration with the SAPC as Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic)
• Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as Pharmacist Assistant after registration as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post- Basic) with the SAPC.
