Gauteng Department of Health is hiring an Operational Manager Nursing for the Medical Ward at Tambo Memorial Hospital, Boksburg. The manager supervises quality patient care, staffing and resources in the unit.
✅ Key duties
- Supervise and control quality patient care in the unit
- Ensure clinical protocols and policies are in place
- Implement and evaluate patient care programmes
- Ensure adequate staffing and manage absenteeism
- Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
- Implement disciplinary measures
- Secure and allocate resources and budget
- Manage staff performance and development and ensure National Core Standards are met
🎓 Requirements
- Diploma/degree in General Nursing Science and SANC registration as a Professional Nurse
- Current SANC receipt as General Nurse and Midwife
- At least 7 years' nursing experience after SANC registration
- 1-year Postgraduate Diploma in Health Service Management or Nursing Administration
- Good communication, leadership and conflict management skills
- Able to supervise staff and be available for emergencies and staff shortages
