MTS Manager

📝 About the role

Ivanplats (Ivanhoe Mines) is hiring an MTS (Mine Technical Services) Manager for its Platreef mechanised underground mine near Mokopane. The manager leads the multidisciplinary technical services team, optimises mine plans and costs, and ensures mineral resources are always available to production.

✅ Key duties

• Optimise revenue by ensuring mine plans and costs are safe and efficient
• Ensure mineral resources never hold up production
• Develop and implement Technical Services standards
• Optimise mine value through mine planning, design and cost models
• Lead a multidisciplinary team and support the mining operation
• Relieve the Mining Manager as required
• Coordinate third-party contractors
• Enforce safety protocols
• Oversee ore and metal accounting and integrate mine planning with processing

🎓 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Resource Management or equivalent (postgraduate a plus)
• Minimum 15 years' post-qualification experience
• Mechanised underground mining experience incl. mine design, planning, rock engineering, ventilation, project and cost management
• Knowledge of ore body evaluation techniques
• Extensive production reporting experience
• South African citizens only; preference to HDSA from local communities and women
