Maintenance Operator (Fleet) – Sasol, Alrode

📝 About the role

Sasol's Energy Marketing & Sales division needs a fleet maintenance operator in Alrode. You will inspect, maintain and repair dangerous-goods road tankers and trailers and keep the fleet legally compliant. Closes 13 October.

✅ Key duties

• Apply and maintain safety standards in the working environment, with specific focus on Dangerous Goods vehicles and transport operations.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and work planning discussions.
• Carry out work according to approved maintenance plans and schedules.
• Provide feedback to supervisors on work progress, identified defects, and maintenance requirements.
• Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities on vehicles, trailers, tankers, and associated fleet equipment.
• Conduct routine vehicle, trailer, and equipment inspections to identify defects and support fleet reliability.
• Identify faults and report abnormalities to ensure safe and reliable fleet operations.
• Participate in root cause analyses and provide input relating to equipment failures and recurring defects.

🎓 Requirements

• a completed National Senior Certificate
• Technical Mathematics or Mathematics SG/HG
• English/Business English SG/HG
• Physical Science SG/HG
• A full N3 certificate with Mathematics, Engineering Science, Business English
• NQFL 3 Mechanical occupational qualification(Must)
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• Dangerous Goods Driver Certification
