📝 About the role
Nine library assistant posts at public libraries across the Eastern Cape, including Amathole, OR Tambo, Alfred Nzo and Chris Hani districts. You will issue and shelve books, sign up members and help library users. Matric is the minimum.
✅ Key duties
- Perform all circulations duties in the library
- Join and assist in renewal library membership
- Shelving of all library reading material
- Attend to reference queries brought by users
- Maintain good public relations with stakeholders
- Accompany librarian in attending meetings when necessarily
- Compile statistics of the library
🎓 Requirements
- National Senior Certificate
- A National Senior Certificate with relevant experience or Diploma/B. Degree (NQF level 6/7) as recognized by SAQA in Library & Information Science will be an added advantage
- Good command of at least two (2) official languages will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of library systems and relevant government prescripts
- Exposure in the field will be an added advantage
- Computer literacy
- Good verbal and written skills
