๐ About the role
Sol Plaatje University in Kimberley seeks a permanent Lecturer (P8) in ICT Education in the Faculty of Education. The lecturer teaches, researches and does community engagement, and may contribute to curriculum development and administration.
โ Key duties
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses
- Use innovative teaching methods
- Mentor and advise students on research projects
- Conduct research focused on teacher education and publish in accredited journals
- Seek external funding through grants and collaborations
- Contribute to curriculum development and integrate emerging education technologies
- Collaborate with schools and community initiatives; join outreach
- Serve on departmental and university committees
- Develop reports and consult stakeholders
๐ Requirements
- Master's degree (NQF 9) specialising in ICT Education
- At least 2 years' teaching experience at university or tertiary level
- Evidence of using ICTs in teaching at school and/or university
- At least one peer-reviewed article in an accredited journal
- Evidence of postgraduate supervision and research activity
- Evidence of active professional/community involvement
- Evidence of course administration at departmental level
- PhD in a relevant field recommended
