UCT's Faculty of Humanities is appointing a Black South African emerging scholar as a permanent Lecturer in French Language and Literature under the DHET New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP). The post offers a supported, reduced-workload path to a full academic career.
✅ Key duties
- Teach on, develop and expand French Language and Literature offerings
- Contribute to postgraduate supervision in French and Francophone Studies
- Build a research and publication profile
- Complete or advance doctoral studies (6-year track)
🎓 Requirements
- Black (African, Coloured, Indian) South African
- 4-year track: doctorate completed; 6-year track: Master's completed or doctorate started
- Minimum 70% for the Master's degree or equivalent (non-negotiable)
- Aged 40 or younger (nGAP condition)
