Learning Support Teacher (Foundation Phase)

📝 About the role

Meridian Pinehurst (Curro) in Durbanville is appointing a full-time foundation phase learning support teacher from January 2027 to identify and support at-risk learners.

✅ Key duties

• Screen and test learners to identify at-risk learners and school readiness
• Give feedback to educators and parents and compile findings and recommendations
• Refer learners to therapists or the multidisciplinary team and compile intervention programmes
• Monitor learner progress with professionals
• Train and inform educators and parents on special requirements

🎓 Requirements

• BEd and/or PGCE in Foundation Phase and experience as a primary school teacher
• Minimum 2 years' experience
• Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum
• Facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• SACE-registered
• Clear criminal record
