📝 About the role

Permanent IT Technician at Sylvania Metals (Western Operations, Mooinooi, Rustenburg area). Implements, maintains and supports IT systems and services across operations and supports users.

✅ Key duties

• Perform and maintain regular/daily IT practices
• Install, configure, maintain and support hardware, software, networks and related systems
• Diagnose and fix hardware, software, network and connectivity issues quickly
• Monitor system performance and availability, do preventative maintenance and keep downtime records
• Give users technical support, guidance and training
• Apply information security, internet security and data privacy controls
• Keep IT asset, maintenance and support records and report on incidents
• Issue IT assets to new employees and monitor IT offboarding with HR
• Evaluate and implement IT improvements, including CCTV, access control and other technology systems

🎓 Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Microsoft-certified IT Technician and Project Management certification advantageous
• 5-6 years' post-qualification experience in a similar role
• In-depth understanding of computer systems and networks; good knowledge of internet security and data privacy
• Valid certificate of fitness
• Valid Code 8 driver's licence and own transport
• Live near the plant or be prepared to relocate (Rustenburg, Mooinooi area)
