📝 About the role

Overberg District (Western Cape Health and Wellness) is hiring a Household Aid at Hermanus Hospital. The role keeps the hospital clean and hygienic to prevent infection, and supports linen, food and waste management services.

✅ Key duties

• Keep a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, following infection prevention and control policies
• Use, order and look after equipment, materials and cleaning solutions correctly
• Support linen management and food services
• Handle domestic, medical and anatomical waste safely
• Support the supervisor and colleagues

🎓 Requirements

• Basic numeracy and literacy
• Experience in cleaning services and infection control in a health facility
• Able to stand for long hours and lift heavy objects
• Able to operate industrial hospital cleaning machinery
• Willing to work shifts, nights, weekends, public holidays and overtime
• Knowledge of waste handling and infection prevention
• Good interpersonal skills; able to work alone and in a team
