General Worker: Stores

📝 About the role

A permanent stores general worker post at the Cape Medical Depot (Pharmacy Services) in Cape Town. The work is receiving, moving and packing medicine stock with pallet jacks, with training on forklifts offered.

✅ Key duties

• Effective and efficient receiving of stock orders from the bulk store into Dispatch
• Move goods to and from different sections via a pallet jack using a goods lift or forklift/ hyster
• Pack stock in boxes according to standards
• Adherence to warehouse housekeeping standards

🎓 Requirements

• Minimum qualification: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience: Appropriate experience in a stores/warehouse environment.
• Inherent requirements: Incumbent must be able and strong enough to lift heavy boxes. Incumbent must be able to operate loaded pallet jacks within normal limits. Willingness to undergo training to operate a Hyster/forklift. Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Ability to work independently and in a team. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
