📝 About the role
The Department of Land Reform and Rural Development is hiring four Finance Clerks in its Financial Management and Accounting directorate in Pretoria. The clerks process invoices, salaries, bookkeeping entries and budget support. No experience is required.
✅ Key duties
- Receive, check, verify and process invoices and capture payments
- Collect cash and receive and capture cash payments
- Receive and process salary advices, bonuses, adjustments and deductions
- Capture financial transactions and clear suspense accounts
- Record debtors and creditors
- Process electronic banking transactions
- Collect budget information, compare spending to budget and identify variances
- Capture and allocate budget virements and distribute budget documents
- File all documents
🎓 Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- No experience required
- Basic knowledge of financial functions, data capturing and collating financial statistics
- Basic knowledge of public-service financial legislation (PFMA, DORA, PSA, PSR, PPPFA, Treasury Regulations)
- Knowledge of basic financial systems such as PERSAL, BAS and LOGIS
- Computer literacy, planning and organising skills
- Communication, interpersonal and basic numeracy skills
