📝 About the role
The Department of Land Reform and Rural Development is hiring a Deputy Director: Finance in the Directorate: Quality Assurance and Administration in East London. The role manages financial accounting, budgets, audits, reporting and supply chain support for the Chief Directorate.
✅ Key duties
- Manage financial accounting functions and monthly/annual financial statement inputs
- Manage internal and external audits and the suspense account
- Manage reconciliation of financial compensation payments and financial reporting
- Manage the Chief Directorate budget and MTEF, AE and AENE inputs
- Authorise household payment instructions and coordinate financial analysis and IYM reports
- Provide project financial support and manage project financial performance under the PFMA
- Coordinate demand management and procurement plans and purchase requisitions
- Manage assets, stationery and facilities in line with prescripts
🎓 Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- National Diploma in Financial Management/Financial Accounting or related (NQF level 6)
- At least 3 years' experience at junior management level in finance
- Valid driver's licence
- Knowledge of financial prescripts, BAS, LOGIS, budgeting, PFMA and strategic planning
- Analytical, communication, report-writing, problem-solving and leadership skills
- Computer literacy
