📝 About the role

Part-time Customer Assistant: Foods (Limited Period Employment) at Woolworths in Hilton, Pietermaritzburg. You serve customers, manage stock rotation and replenishment, and keep food safety, hygiene and shrinkage standards in the food department. Flexible shifts.

✅ Key duties

• Greet and help customers and respond to their needs
• Advise customers on products, promotions and alternatives
• Rotate and replenish stock, keeping cold chain and hygiene standards
• Spot quality issues, isolate damaged goods and manage returns to vendors
• Follow shop-keeping disciplines (gap policies, planograms, tidy department)
• Minimise shrinkage by reporting dishonesty and following security protocols
• Promote new lines and current promotions
• Be punctual, follow dress code and hygiene standards, and take part in team meetings

🎓 Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level
• Basic computer literacy
• Food retail or customer service experience advantageous
• Able to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and weekends
• Good communication, basic numeracy and literacy
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and cold chain management
• Attention to detail for stock rotation, merchandising and shrinkage control
