📝 About the role
Two cultural officer posts for the department’s Central Corridor (Johannesburg). Officers run community arts, culture and heritage programmes and youth projects, and no experience is required.
✅ Key duties
- Facilitate transformation of performing and visual arts to impact on socio-economic development
- Promote and develop community/public based arts, culture and heritage programmes
- Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders
- Manage the implementation of youth development programmes and projects
- Promote socio-cultural development of vulnerable groups
- Identify and support the development of high impact job creation areas and skills development in arts, culture and heritage sector
- Promote the culture of reading and writing, SA craft, music sector and technical service industries and multimedia (audio-visual, design, visuals arts) sector
- Design and conduct awareness campaigns to promote arts and culture programmes
🎓 Requirements
- A Senior Certificate plus a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 6/7) in Fine Arts / Creative Industries / Heritage / Performing Arts / Visual Arts or related qualification as recognized by SAQA. No experience is required
- Relevant experience will be an added advantage
- A valid driver’s license
- No criminal record
- SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: Organizational skills
- Computer literacy (MS. package)
- Problem solving
- Report writing
