Court Preparation Officer (Recruit 2026/338)

๐ About the role
The NPA's National Prosecutions Service needs a Court Preparation Officer at CPP: Welkom (Kroonstad office). The officer supports victims of crime and witnesses, especially children, so they can testify safely and without further trauma. Post 35/126 in DPSA Circular 35.
โ Key duties
- Provide holistic, integrated care for victims of crime, customers and witnesses at court
- Prevent secondary traumatisation by creating a safe, secure environment to testify
- Prepare children and adult victims and witnesses for court
- Liaise with and report to the Prosecutor/Manager
- Work according to accepted court preparation techniques
๐ Requirements
- B Degree (NQF 7) or 3-year Diploma (NQF 6) in Social Science / Behavioural Studies or equivalent
- At least 1 year working experience (including experience gained during training)
- Sound coordination and counselling experience
- Ability to work well with children
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
- Excellent administrative, communication and problem-solving skills
