📝 About the role
KZN COGTA is hiring a Community Development Worker for Ophongolo (Pongola). The CDW links communities with government services, helps communities identify and communicate their needs to all spheres of government, and supports local governance structures. No experience is required.
✅ Key duties
- Liaise with, mobilise, inform and assist communities to access government services
- Determine community needs and coordinate them with the relevant government structures
- Coordinate the collation of information
- Keep records of government services and how to access them
- Promote networks and strengthen local governance structures and stakeholders (CBWs, NGOs etc.)
🎓 Requirements
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 (no relevant experience required)
- A qualification in Community Development Work is an added advantage
- Experience or volunteering in community development projects is an added advantage
- Sound knowledge of community development, municipal structures and government services
- Report writing, interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer literacy
