📝 About the role
Vryheid District Hospital (KZN Health) needs a Clinical Nurse Practitioner for Thembumusa Clinic. The role delivers comprehensive primary health care (promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative), supervises nursing staff and supports Ideal Clinic and OHSC programmes.
✅ Key duties
- Provide comprehensive primary health care services to clients and the community
- Ensure proper use and safekeeping of medical equipment, surgical and pharmaceutical stock
- Assist with orientation, induction and monitoring of nursing staff
- Provide direct and indirect supervision of nursing staff
- Assist with clinical audits and quality improvement plans
- Provide health education and in-service training
- Manage patient records and submit accurate verified data on time
- Support the Ideal Clinic and OHSC programme in the facility
🎓 Requirements
- B degree / National Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (or equivalent) allowing SANC registration as a Professional Nurse
- 1-year post-basic qualification in Curative Skills in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (SANC accredited)
- SANC registration as General Nurse, Midwife and in Clinical Nursing Science, plus current SANC receipt
- Certificate of service from current and previous employers, stamped and signed by HR
- Grade 1: at least 4 years' nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing
- Grade 2: at least 14 years' experience, of which at least 10 years after the 1-year post-basic qualification
- Knowledge of nursing and labour legislation, Batho Pele and Patients' Rights Charter
- Leadership, supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills
