📝 About the role
Barberton Hospital (Ehlanzeni District) needs a Chief Personnel Officer. The role coordinates post-filling reports, oversees recruitment and selection, manages HR staff and records, approves PERSAL transactions and processes pension benefits and leave payouts.
✅ Key duties
- Coordinate and compile reports on filling of posts
- Monitor HR administration processes and supply/demand of human resources
- Monitor and advise on recruitment and selection
- Monitor the unit's operational plan
- Manage staff performance (PMDS reviews and assessments)
- Ensure compliance with employment equity and skills development
- Process pension benefits and leave payouts
- Maintain complete, accurate HR records and approve PERSAL transactions
🎓 Requirements
- Grade 12 plus 6 years' relevant HRM experience, OR Diploma/Degree (NQF 6/7) in HRM, Public Administration/Management plus 3 years' relevant experience
- At least 3 years as Personnel Practitioner / Principal Personnel Officer / Administrative Officer (Level 7)
- At least three PERSAL courses (inherent requirement) and extensive PERSAL knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of recruitment, conditions of service, benefits, PMDS and HRD
- Knowledge of PFMA, PSR, BCEA, EEA, PAIA and Treasury Regulations
- Computer literacy (MS Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Leadership and communication skills
- Valid driver's licence
