Casual Cashier, Mooirivier Mall

📝 About the role

Dis-Chem is hiring part-time Casual Cashiers for its Mooirivier Mall store in Potchefstroom. Cashiers serve customers at the point of sale and record transactions accurately on Dis-Chem's system with zero tolerance for errors and fraud.

✅ Key duties

• Follow Dis-Chem customer service policies and build professional customer relationships
• Process all payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons)
• Process loyalty cards, including partner programmes
• Handle exchanges and returns when authorised
• Get supervisor approval for voids and price changes
• Keep cash safe and use the drop safe per SOP
• Make sure all outgoing items and scripts are scanned and paid
• Report complaints, compliments and suspicious behaviour
• Know current sales and promotions

🎓 Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• At least 6 months' cashier / till operations experience
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Sound numerical skills and strong English
• Basic customer service
• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Reliable transport and/or live close to the store
• South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records
