📝 About the role

Africa Health Care is hiring a Case Manager on a fixed-term contract at Royal Buffalo Specialist Hospital in East London, reporting to the Patient Administration Manager. The role covers clinical coding, funder pre-authorisations, and accurate patient accounts.

✅ Key duties

• Do clinical coding per CPT and ICD requirements
• Ensure accurate pre-admission and pre-authorisation information per hospital and funder procedures
• Maintain patients' clinical status per funder approval for the whole stay and manage financial risk
• Provide accurate updates and discharge information on all accounts
• Maintain accurate admission accounts and handle patient files
• Submit accounts electronically on time and follow up short payments
• Ensure hospital staff follow funder rules and coding procedures
• Keep up to date on funder and healthcare legislation

🎓 Requirements

• SANC registration as an RN, or a non-clinical case management certification / proven experience as non-clinical Case Manager in a private hospital
• Matric
• 3–5 years' basic finance and medical aid administration experience (advantage)
• Knowledge of hospital billing and tariffs (advantage)
• Computer literate (MS Office, Word, Excel)
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
