Africa Health Care's Royal Buffalo Specialist Hospital in East London is re-advertising a permanent Billings Auditor post. The role handles medical aid billing and coding for all admissions, reporting to the Patient Administration Manager.

✅ Key duties

• Apply ICD-10 and CPT codes, medical aid tariffs and billing rules
• Bill all in- and outpatient accounts daily
• Close and release discharged patient accounts on time
• Monitor receipt of discharged files and report delays
• Help with final audit of patient accounts
• Liaise with wards, pharmacy and theatre for correct codes and details
• Bill accounts needing prostheses completely
• Identify risk areas and give feedback to management

🎓 Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Nursing qualification preferred
• Previous experience in a billing department (essential)
• Private healthcare knowledge and medical scheme rules
• ICD-10 coding
• Knowledge of hospital information systems
• Computer proficiency
