Artisan Diesel Mechanic x2 (Req 13239)

📝 About the role

Sasol needs two Artisan Diesel Mechanics in Regional Operations and Asset Services at Sasolburg. They maintain vehicles and mobile equipment (trucks, earth-moving equipment) to keep production plants running with minimal downtime.

✅ Key duties

• Follow all safety regulations and work standards
• Carry out planned maintenance on diesel equipment and vehicles
• Do basic risk assessments
• Fault-find and identify failure modes using asset management principles
• Scope parts and services needed for maintenance
• Prioritise and track work, including admin, to meet turnaround times
• Keep workshop housekeeping standards and do safety inspections
• Do standby and overtime when required
• Act in a supervisory role when required; coach others

🎓 Requirements

• NQF 4 trade test; Section 28 trade-tested Diesel Artisan
• Driver's licence code EC (valid PDP advantageous)
• At least 5 years as a qualified artisan maintaining diesel and petrol vehicles
• Experience on truck tractors and trailing equipment (Mercedes-Benz/MAN, air brakes)
• Experience on earth-moving equipment (Bell/JCB loaders) and hydraulic systems
• Experience on locomotives, forklifts and tractors is a plus
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
