Artisan Assistant (Technical Services)

📝 About the role

Swartland Hospital in Malmesbury (West Coast District) needs an Artisan Assistant to help keep its installations, machinery and workshop running. Shortlisted candidates will do a practical test. DPSA Circular 36 of 2026, post 36/376.

✅ Key duties

• Assist the Artisan with maintenance and technical support
• Maintain installations, machinery, equipment, workshop and garden tools
• Render workshop support and standby duties
• Maintain professional growth and ethical standards

🎓 Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Grade 10 or equivalent
• Appropriate experience in welding, painting, carpentry and plumbing with general electrical knowledge
• Valid Code B/EB driver's licence
• Willing to work overtime and standby, incl. weekends and public holidays
• Physically fit; able to work at heights
