📝 About the role
Transnet is taking on fitter & turner apprentices at Koedoespoort in Pretoria. The apprenticeship trains you to work independently as a qualified artisan, mixing on-the-job and classroom training. It is aimed at young people aged 18 to 30 with a technical N-certificate, NCV 4 or technical matric.
✅ Key duties
- Plan and prepare the work site, tools, equipment and materials
- Use hand, power and measuring tools safely
- Install, assemble, fit and connect equipment under supervision
- Test, inspect, maintain and repair equipment and installations
- Complete on-the-job and institutional training towards a trade test
🎓 Requirements
- N2–N6 certificate (trade theory, Engineering Science, Maths), or NCV Level 4, or Technical Grade 12 (Maths, Physical Science, trade theory)
- Mathematics passed with 50% or more
- Must NOT already have a trade certificate (Red Seal)
- Aged 18–30
- South African citizen
- Attach all qualifications and academic record
