📝 About the role

North-West University's Mahikeng Campus (Department of Animal Health) is hiring a permanent Animal Health Technician (Peromnes grade P10). The technician assists in the NWU veterinary hospital with patient handling, treatment and clinic admin.

✅ Key duties

• Handle patients, treatment and follow-up
• Do clinic admin (Microvet) and manage hospitalised patients
• Take histories and write up client forms
• Examine patients clinically and report to the veterinarian
• Provide patient aftercare and follow-up

🎓 Requirements

• National Diploma (NQF 6) in Animal Health
• At least 2 years' experience in a veterinary clinic as a paraveterinary worker
• Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
• Recommended: Honours in animal health/veterinary field (NQF 8)
• Recommended: SAVC or SAVTA accreditation
• Punctual with good interpersonal skills
